Powder Room Reveal

Designing our house has been a labor of love.

From picking light fixtures to faucets, I knew from the start I wanted to be involved with every aspect of the design process. I went to Build.com to start looking for my favorite pieces. They offer the best selection of home improvement products, including trending and traditional styles. With unique finishes and new technologies at competitive prices, it’s always easy to find what I am looking for—and as an interior designer, I want to make it my own!

When it came to the powder room, my primary goal was to create a space that reflected clean and timeless design. Mixing and matching more modern elements with natural accents creates a unique and dynamic look. With concrete floors throughout, I wanted this space to feel warm and inviting, but still modern. No easy task!

When it came time to choose the finishes  for the room, I immediately knew I wanted sleek, simple, and durable pieces. I decided to go with primarily black finishes, giving this space more of an edge. In smaller spaces like a powder room, I like to choose pieces that don’t take up too much space to keep the room from feeling crowded. This modern Hinkley Aiden Bath Bar offers a more artistic and simplified take on bathroom lighting, and it perfectly frames our Varaluz Mirror. I love this mirror for a number of reasons, but I especially love the more minimalist frame.

There’s always pressure to find the right faucet! In so many ways, this fixture quickly becomes the centerpiece of any powder room. So when I came across the Signature Hardware Faucet, I knew it was the perfect choice. Not only does its seamless attachment to the wall free up space, but it also offers so much more creativity when it comes to designing the sink and counter area. Especially if you’re looking for a more dramatic and raised basin, I highly suggest going with this option.

Whenever I’m designing a space, I like to make sure that all of the little details are looked after. From the Signature Hardware Robe Hook to the Signature Hardware Tissue Holder, it was important that they matched the rest of the room’s hardware. Even the Toto Toilet complements the dark walls and matches the sink and countertop. I love how each piece elevates the others, making the room feel cohesive and sophisticated without going over-the-top.

Designing a powder room can feel like a big undertaking, which is why I like to think of a bathroom’s design as an extension of the rest of the house. Bringing in design elements like color and material can really help with consistency.
